Master Tara Singh was the foremost eminent and therefore the most respected leader for the Sikhs during the evolving years of India. The Sikh diaspora reposed trust in him. Starting his career as a teacher, he was drawn towards the Gurudwara movement and Sikh politics. Sikh religion inspired him to dedicate his life to the service of a path, and therefore the poor. Master Tara Singh wrote - If anyone calls me communal or such ideas, he's liberal to do so. I even have no regrets. ". This book covers his life and incidents intimately.

Master Tara Singh (1885-1967) was preeminent and therefore the most durable leader of the Sikhs for quite four decades of the 20th century. The Sikh multitude reposed trust in him due to his impeccable integrity and honesty. Starting his career as a teacher, he was driven to the stage of the Gurdwara movement and Sikh politics by his strong religious impulse that got ignited with the Nankana Sahib Massacre in February 1921.

Thereafter his proximity to the Sikh affairs catapulted him to the center-stage of the community by early 1930. He led the Sikhs from the front within the fight for freedom of India, but never hesitated to say his stand which wasn't in line with the ‘consensus’ reflected by the congress. As a consequence, he became a victim of vilification. Such was illustrious, though much-maligned, and grossly misunderstood leader that the Sikhs brought forth during the critical and fateful phase of their history within the 20th century. He surely deserves a significant study on his life and contribution. The book is that the first-ever effort during this direction.
