Most old paintings of Sikh warriors typically show them with
a shield, either strapped on their back or hung from a shoulder, this shield is
known as a dhal (Punjabi).
This beautiful 8 inch Dhal beautifully captures all the
minor details of a traditional Dhal. It is only meant to be used as a decorative
accessory.
It comes with two blades piercing through it. The blades are
8 inch long and have handles coated with a golden layer of metal. The Dhal
itself has an attractive pattern on it and a Golden Khanda Symbol right in the
middle.
The blades represent two Kirpans.
The overall look of this shield is very appealing to the eye
and creates a sense of gratefulness for our ancestors who used these shields.
Since this shield is only meant to be used as a home décor
object, it comes with a hanging ring on its back, which is used to hang it on a
wall or some other vertical flat surface.
Besides being used as a home décor object it is often used to
decorate Gurudwaras such as for decoration in front of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji
Prakash in Main Hall of all Gurdwara Sahib.
