Gola is wielded by grasping the steel handle and spinning it around and guard upon coming too close to spinning wieght of Iron or Steel ball.

It is held between the thumb and index finger and thrown towards the opponent with an underhand flick.

Gatka Gola  is a flat steel or iron ball ring, five to 12 inches in diameter,  with 1 meter steel chain attached around an steel handle for grip.

The practice of Gatka was embedded in the social, religious and daily routine of every Sikh over a huge area covering largely the Northern states of India.
