Palki sahib Or Paalki Small Size 36x 22 x 3 Inches

Palki Sahib is a Punjabi word which describes the structure housing the Manji Sahib and which form part of the Guru's platform (Takhat) or seating.

The Palki Sahib may be integrated into the platform and form a canopy above the Guru's   Manji Sahib. The Palki Sahib is normally at least 2 meters wide, 2 metres deep and 2.5 metres high, made of wood and holding lighting and high decorated surfaces enhancing the Guru's seating.

The Palki Sahib represents a throne and presents the Guru in a graceful and impressive setting.

Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji is placed on Manji Sahib, which is a raised base covered by Palki – a canopy showing how precious and important respecting our Guru is.

On the outer side of the canopy, sacred words such as “ਸਚ ਖੰਡਿ ਵਸੈ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰੁ“

“Sach Khand Vase Nirankar” or something else from holy scriptures.

The Palki stands up to be 73 Inches tall, 42 Inches long and 24 Inches Wide. Each of its Steel legs is about 9.2 Inches in height. The Khannda Sahib placed on top of the canopy is 12 Inch tall. The overall weight for an assembled Palki is approximately 35.3 kg.

The Palki Sahib (each component such as legs, manji sahib, canopy etc) is covered with a thick layer of steel. The steel has a floral pattern engraving on it which expands up to the entirety of palki. This pattern includes flowers, sacred words, holy symbols etc.

Most Palki Sahib are constructed with careful precision by skilled designers to a very high standard of detailed design and quality workmanship.

This Palki can be dis-assembled to individual parts such as legs, poles, Manji Sahib, canopy, Khanda and various other components.

Below are instructions to assemble a palki.

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS:

1.      Arrange the Steel legs (Punjabi: Pawas) and place the base of Peerah Sahib on top.

2.      Screw the base of Peerah sahib to the steel legs with the long rods having screw-able ends. Make sure to keep the side which has more area for screwing towards the top.

3.      Place the poles around the rods.

4.      Set up the roof on top of previously installed poles so the rods fit into the 4 holes on it.

5.      Take the Khanda and screw it to its base.

6.      Unscrew the wooden block from the top of the canopy, flip it, it will reveal another screw to attach the Khanda on it, and then screw it back along with the Khanda.

7.      Place the Canopy over the roof so the rods fit into the 4 holes on it.

8.      Once done, put the round washers and screw the bolts to all four corners. Carefully tighten them so nothing is wobbly.

9.      Screw the round steel balls along with their base on all four sides.
