Tags: Tava Or Tawa (ਤਵਾ) Iron (Punjabi: Sarabloh) Induction flat based frying pan or Dosa Tava With Non-Stick Coating and Wooden Handle Size - Diameter 9.8 Inch
This Tava has a diameter of 9.8 inch which is more than enough to cook/bake a perfect sized roti/chapati.
It is 0.2 cm thick, which is an ideal thickness to absorb heat and hold it for a considerable amount of time.
The material used to forge this Tava is premium Iron (Punjabi: Sarabloh), which has been coated with layer of non-stick material. Thus, providing a smooth and convenient cooking experience.
The Pan has slightly raised edges to keep the oil and other liquids in place.
The handle is 7.2 Inches long, 1.0 Inch wide and sandwiched between two pieces of wood, to prevent the heat from burning your hands. And it can bear a lot of weight since it has been fixed to the pan tightly using 2 Iron bolts.
Iron (Punjabi: Sarabloh) is a preferred metal to use for utensils in Sikhism. It is believed that it helps reduce Iron deficiency in one’s body.
Since it is made of Iron, it is prone to get rusty over time, unless taken care of. Put some oil on it to create a layer between the surface and open air.
If any rust is found over time on this tava, it is Preferred to use Lemon syrup or Sand to rub for few times to clean it.
After wards apply a small amount of coconut oil to provide shiny look. This will act as Anti-corrosive.
1. Wash the pan well with regular dish washing soap.
2. Dry the Pan Thoroughly.
3. Lightly oil and heat the pan. (The oil helps prevent rust)
